Teaching What I Needed to Learn

I started the day receiving the following message from someone I consider my teacher. I met the author of this piece 25 years ago when I was first studying the DiSC behavioral model. I did not know anything about the self-help industry. I did not know anything about personal development. I knew even less about how my life was going to change because I met this teacher and the subject she taught.

Last year we were having our annual phone conversation and I was sharing how difficult the last few business years had been. That experience became the book Don't Die With Vacation Time on the Books.  One of the chapters is You Teach What You Need to Learn.  That is exactly what was happening when this conversation took place.  Here is part of the review she posted about my book:
"Andrea (aka Dr. Success) is doing a great job of carrying an important message of hope and practicality with her website, blogs, social network posting, writing, speaking etc.. I value her for being such a great role model in putting the success principles we've studied for years (40 years for me)into practice. I remember a very important phone conversation with her last year just as everything was falling apart. Her candid appraisal of her business and her life gave me the impetus to face some hard decisions in my personal and professional life. I think at the moment I spoke with her what I really needed to hear was the experience of someone I respected because I knew she was "walking the talk". Thanks for continuing to share your journey with us."

Whether you are teaching or learning today keep your spirit alive by living with the Don't Die Spirit.

Thank you,
